Sacred Hospitality

The Cascades Sanctuary & Guesthouse

Open Heart, Open Mind

Our 12 room guesthouse and retreat center is operated out of a historic, repurposed gristmill built by the local Shaker Mt. Lebanon community in 1824. In addition to general hospitality, we offer customized group accommodations, program and event space, and food service partially sourced from our on-site organic vegetable gardens. We are nestled in a picturesque valley between the Berkshires and the Hudson River Valley, providing a serene backdrop for our guests to relax, celebrate, or explore.

The heartbeat of the operation is CREEED’s Cascade Sanctuary, a 12+ acre property in the Berkshire Mountain region of eastern New York.  Here we are building a wholistic ecosystem of regenerative farming practices to produce more edible food and increase the biodiversity and long term sustainability of the surrounding land.

Our
Why

All too often these days, we find our social environments lacking the warmth of a welcoming heart and curious mind. Many of us see some of our neighbors as enemies rather than friends. Social media and heightened political discourse has caused a wedge in our society. It is our belief that it is time for us to embrace each other in an openhearted way that leads all of us to a deeper understanding of what it means to be human. When we come together with meaningful dialogue, and an appreciation that each of us has only a limited understanding of the nature of life, it becomes easier to leave judgment behind and embrace curiosity as a pathway to joy. When we laugh with our neighbors and know that there are people who will help us in times of need, our tension relaxes, our bodies feel better, and our emotions are more at peace.
